Regulation Maps

The following maps show where land is regulated within the Lake Simcoe watershed. The overall Regulation Limit has been updated April 1, 2019 as part of an annual update process.

Approximately 29% (including Lake Simcoe) of the Lake Simcoe watershed is regulated by LSRCA. We regulate for a number of natural hazards, not just flooding. For example, the regulation areas also include steep slopes, erosion-prone areas and wetlands.

Our online mapping shows the boundaries of the entire regulated area, which include all of the above noted hazards including their respective setbacks. In order to determine why a specific property is regulated, please contact our Permits and Regulations team.

PDF Maps

Our regulation maps are also available in PDF. The watershed has been divided into 117 maps at a scale of 1:10,000. Each map is approximately 1.5 MB per map and takes 10 seconds to a few minutes to download, depending on your internet connection. Simply choose the map you want to view from the key map. Each map viewed from the key contains the current regulated area.
