Restoring the Lake Simcoe watershed
We know
that undertaking projects on your property can be costly, and we want to
encourage you to choose the projects that provide the changes you seek,
but also ones that benefit the air, water and land that sustain us all.
We support
the efforts of people just like you - farmers, shoreline residents, and rural
landowners – to protect and restore the Lake Simcoe Watershed.
On the Farm
Find workable solutions to protect your soil and water resources on the farm. We offer funding for projects including Soil and Nutrient Planning, Run-off Control, Windbreaks, and new pilot projects offered for farmers in the Holland Marsh.

In the Country
If you enjoy country living and the great outdoors, you'll love our new funding categories. We're thrilled to offer funding to homeowners like you who want to enhance your connection with nature, right on your own property!
On the Water
Healthy shorelines are vital connection between land and water. Whether you live right on Lake Simcoe, or have a stream, creek or river running through your property, protecting the shoreline or streambank can restore your property and enhance your view.

In Town
If you live in a town, city, or built-up area in the Lake Simcoe watershed, you can protect our lake by helping rainwater soak into the ground naturally and planting native plants on your property.

Our current funding support seeks to achieve:
- Improved water quality through streambank erosion protection, limiting nutrient inputs and sediment loading, removal of barriers, and decreasing water temperatures.
- Soil conservation by addressing water and wind erosion.
- Enhanced natural areas by increasing biodiversity and wildlife habitat, expanding buffers and encouraging other natural features such as grasslands.
Grants are limited - Act today!
By its nature, grant-based financial assistance is limited and dependent on the highest priority concerns in a particular region. As we gain more information and address the biggest environmental threats, the focus changes.
Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. For this reason, don't delay in reaching out to us today to get started on your application!
