Don’t delay, have your say!

Come out and provide input to improve Thornton Bales Conservation Area

Newmarket, October 9, 2018 - The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) wants to hear from you! Join them on Wednesday, October 17 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at LSRCA’s head office as they collect information to develop a management plan for Thornton Bales Conservation Area during this public workshop.

LSRCA is encouraging visitors to come out and actively participate in their workshop by sharing input on improvements to enhance user experience at Thornton Bales. This is part of the management planning process that LSRCA uses to make decisions about trail planning and property maintenance for a number of its conservation areas.

“The management plan process is intended to be a collaborative one, building on and fostering partnerships with both conservation area stakeholder groups and members of the public through an interactive consultation process, which for the public includes an online user survey and a public workshop” says Brian Kemp, LSRCA’s General Manager of Conservation Lands.

LSRCA develops five year management plans for various conservation areas to establish short and long-term goals. During the survey and consultation period input from members of the public are taken into consideration and used in setting key priorities.

To register and for more information about the workshop, participants are asked to contact Lauren Grzywniak at L.Grzywniak@lsrca.on.ca.
