Uxbridge Countryside Preserve

The LSRCA and the Township of Uxbridge are working together to develop a long-term, ecologically supportive management strategy for the Uxbridge Countryside Preserve. The strategy will protect existing recreational uses and support the long-term ecological health of the property.

The Uxbridge Countryside Preserve, located in the heart of Uxbridge, was opened for public use in 2005. The preserve covers approximately 40 hectares of rolling landscape on the Oak Ridges Moraine. With its central location, extensive network of trails and space for activities year-round, the Uxbridge Countryside Preserve is a favourite destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Ontario's Ecological Land Classification System will be used to assist with the strategy development and will help ensure that the preserve's ecological health is maintained and enhanced.

All stakeholder groups and the public are encouraged to get involved in the strategy development process. Countryside Preserve users have intimate knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing the preserve, which is why their contributions are so valued in developing a management strategy for its future.
