Mapping with LSRCA's Geographic Information System
GIS (Geographical Information System) is a computer system capable of capturing, storing, analyzing, and displaying geographically referenced information; that is, data identified according to its location. Our GIS helps us with many natural resource-based management projects, such as watershed studies, constraint mapping, and forest management plans.
Our areas of expertise include:
- Digitizing and custom database development
- Geographic data analysis
- Map production and plotting
- Watershed modeling
- GIS data conversion
We use current hardware and software, in combination with sound resource management skills, database management, digitizing, analyses and plotting. We have a full range of GIS data available for the Lake Simcoe watershed, including recent satellite images.
