Hunting for Heroes
Monday, July 5, 2010
NEWMARKET - Do you know someone doing great work in our environment? Why not nominate them for a “Watershed Hero” conservation award?
Every year there are many people who are doing good work to improve our watershed. While these people do this work without thinking about being rewarded for it, it’s always nice to let people know it’s appreciated.
We are looking for nominations to acknowledge the contributions of local citizens, community groups, and businesses that are protecting the health of the Lake Simcoe watershed. These conservation awards are available in a variety of categories including the newest "Ernie Crossland Young Conservationist Award" recognizing youth for their contributions to improving our watershed. We need your help to find and recognize these heroes, so please nominate someone today!
This year’s ceremony to honour award recipients is set to take place in early October at Madsen’s Greenhouse in Newmarket.
The nomination form is available here (pdf). The deadline for nominations is July 16, 2010.
