Our mission is to provide leadership in the restoration and protection of the environmental health and quality of Lake Simcoe and its watershed. Now in our 60th year, we have worked to protect natural resources in the Lake Simcoe watershed, in collaboration with community, municipal, and other government partners.
We are members of Conservation Ontario, the umbrella organization for all 36 Conservation Authorities in Ontario.
We are the winners of the 2009 Thiess Riverprize.
Our Three Areas of Focus
Science and Research: We strive to understand the watershed ecosystem in order to predict, assess, and adapt to change.
Protection and Restoration: We build a healthier watershed where people and property are protected from flooding and erosion, and where land and water are conserved and restored.
Education and Outreach: We create and promote informed, engaged, and supportive communities in partnerships for a healthier watershed.
As an organization committed to continuous learning, program, and service excellence, our programs support us in our three areas of focus.
LEEDing by Example
As a demonstration of our commitment to our three areas of focus, our head office facilities have been designed and built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver designation standards.
