Benjamin Moore Community Restoration Program announces grants and product donations to community groups in Bradford West Gwillimbury
June 17, 2011 – The Bradford West Gwillimbury and District Community Foundation and Benjamin Moore & Co., Limited are announcing  $3,000  in cash grants and $750 in donated Benjamin Moore paint for the project to restore Scanlon House in the Scanlon Creek Conservation Area. (read more)

RBC grant will improve water quality in Eastern Creek

NEWMARKET – June 9, 2011 – Today the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority is several thousand steps closer to completing a local stormwater improvement project in George Richardson Park in Newmarket thanks to a $100,000 Leadership Grant that the Lake Simcoe Conservation Foundation received from RBC. Western Creek Restoration



Fish Coming Back to Western Creek
This summer’s discovery of White Sucker, Common Carp, Longnose Dace and Creek Chub in Newmarket’s Western Creek proves that restoration work can make a difference. “These fish were not found in Western Creek before it was re-naturalized last year” says Virginia Hackson, the conservation authority’s Chair. “In fact, in 2008, before the project started, LSRCA staff reported that the area immediately upstream of the re-naturalization was devoid of any fish species.” (read more)

Roadhouse and Rose and LSCF Memorial Tree Program
Planting a tree is one of the most meaningful ways to express sympathy. It is a remembrance to a loved one and at the same time a renewing of life. The Lake Simcoe Conservation Foundation is pleased to announce a new partnership with Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home in Newmarket, establishing the first tree memorial program in the Lake Simcoe watershed that focuses on reforestation efforts in our local community. Scanlon Creek Bark Park Grand Opening - Saturday July 10, 2010
The grand opening of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s Bark Park was ‘un-leashed’ at Scanlon Creek Conservation Area on Saturday July 10. We could not have wished for a more beautiful day with at least 100 dogs, a great crowd of people, BBQ by the Bradford Lion’s Club as well as a fundraising raffle (focused on man's best friend of course). Western Creek Restoration Celebration Event
On Tuesday November 10th, the Lake Simcoe Conservation Foundation, along with The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, hosted a walking tour and ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Western Creek Restoration Project, and to recognize its our partners - RBC and the Town of Newmarket.
