Our Projects > East Holland River Clean-up
A Good Start for a Helthier Lake Simcoe
The East Holland River is the most polluted and populated river in the Watershed, with more development planned.
It is a major source of pollutants (specifically phosphorus) entering the Lake.
Water, rich in phosphorus and sediment from the East Holland River is draining directly into Cook's Bay, flowing through Lake Simcoe and out into Lake Couching.
This has an impact on all of us and without action the problem will get much worse.
A comprehensive plan to restore and protect the East Holland exists and the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) is already taking action.
